Davis Krieg was born in St Louis, MO in 1965, to a set
of wonderful parents. In his high school years, during
which he split his time among the brains and the
freaks, he learned to play the drums by stretching the
speaker wires of his older brother's stereo over to
his own room, putting on a Led Zeppelin record, and
making a mad dash back to the drum set in time for the
song to start. Somehow, he was accepted to Millikin
University in the fall of 1983, where he found out
that he had to know more about music than playing rock
drums. He ended up playing vibes in the top jazz band,
managing the recording studio, acing all his music
theory classes, and even getting a girlfriend or two.
He graduated with honors with a degree in Commercial
Music in 1987, and moved to Chicago, where he has been
active in the rock club scene ever since. In 1999 he
helped found Elastic Revolution Productions, later the
Elastic Arts Foundation, which runs Elastic, a
performance space in Humboldt Park that presents
performances of all types in an environment that is
friendly to the listener and the artist.
